SWYBO: Who we are, what we are about....

The Southwest Youth Basketball Organization, Ltd. was formed in 2004 to provide boys
in grades 4th through 8th , who reside in the boundaries of the Green Bay Southwest
school district and plan on attending Green Bay Southwest High School, an opportunity
to compete in tournaments at the highest level of youth basketball in the area. In striving
to play at this level, it is our hope that our players improve their overall basketball skills
and have fun doing so. The members of this organization will try to reach a balance
between being competitive and teaching skills. The skills that are taught by this
organization are done so under the direction of the boy’s basketball coaches at
Southwest High School. It is our hope that we are giving players the foundation that they
will need to some day excel at the high school level.
It is a privilege to play on a SWYBO team. Players (and parents) should treat it in that
manner and be dedicated to working hard and attending all practices and games.
Parents should understand that equal playing time in tournament games is not the goal
of this club. It is our belief that playing time is earned in practice, through hard work and
is also based on the individual skill level of each boy. Those players that work hard and
show that they have the ability to perform in a game will generally receive playing time. In
essence, we are not guaranteeing anything to anyone at anytime. Parents should
understand all of this before they commit there son into this program.
